The Crafty Yandex

He who runs ratings determines positions. This is a short meaning of all ratings, presented to our attention by the mass media. That’s why Russia will always be on the very bottom  of the charts created by the “independent” organizations. The reason is very simple: these “independent” counters receive their money from the US government.

Why did I think of it today? Back in May I wrote about a strange situation when Yandex “lost” my blog nstarikov.ru. Lost in the rating it creates itself. And you know, Yandex lost my blog so well, it couldn’t find it.

By the end of August Yandex “found” my blog. But before the disappearance I was on the 53rd position, and after it my blog nstarikov.ru turned up on the 1272nd position in its rating.

The “miracles” didn’t stop there.

The Country Must Know Its Heroes

Lenya Golikov, Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya, Valya Kotik – the names of these heroes came to be a symbol of our epoch, the symbol of courage and bravery. The acts of their heroism were glorified by the poets and writers, the school textbooks set them as examples for the new generation to follow. It is absolutely correct. But there is a reasonable question: is our great Fatherland short on heroes now? Why is it that we keep hearing about the heroes of the past and hear next to nothing about the heroes of our time?

No, Russia still has her heroes. Today our mass media prefers to simply keep silence about the outstanding deeds of our compatriots. To uplift the nation’s moral spirit and cultivate the nation’s pride is not among their aims. On the contrary, the “hand-shakeable” press aims at creating an atmosphere of hopelessness and the feeling of confidence that there are no decent people in Russia any more. It is much easier to counteract the emerging movement for the country’s complete sovereignty when the consciousness of masses accepts such self-defeating ideas.

We have no less heroes in our Fatherland today. But their acts of heroism are spoken about less and being silenced more. However it is in our power to fill the hand-maid information vacuum.

"Dear readers, many of you have heard and know about Victor Bout.

This truly strong spirited Russian man became a political hostage in USA. Despite all the hardships and difficulties in a high-security prison, he did not lose his courage and faith and, still, believes in the victory of good over evil.

Our public institutions, such as the "PGR, regularly pickets in support of Viktor Bout and other Russians who became hostages of the United States' political games.

Thanks to Alla Bout, Victor's wife, I had the opportunity to chat with Victor Bout directly through the electronic system of prison correspondence.

I am confident that you will be interested to know Victor's opinion on most pressing issues of contemporary world politics.

Victor finds it quite difficult to live in a high-security prison. Access to the Internet is unavailable, for obvious reasons. But he can communicate with a limited number of persons through e- prison correspondence.

We write each other in English language.

Therefore, I asked our regular blog reader, Natalia HOLOVAKHA for the translation into Russian language. And I am very grateful to Natalia for that.

So, on the situation around Syria:
